Pennies for Patients

Pennies for Patients

Hi, Families!

The final countdown to our
Pennies for Patients campaign has begun! Make a note to ask him or her about it. A parent letter will also be heading your way as well, so be sure to check your child’s backpack.

Help prepare your child for the campaign kickoff by taking these simple steps:
  • Practice with your child how to ask family members, friends, and neighbors to consider making a donation. Donations can be made via your child’s online giving page, his or her classroom or school page, or as cash donations. To learn more about giving online, click here.

  • If you’ve haven’t started collecting spare change at home, now’s the time. Designate a change jar and start adding to it. When your child brings home his or her change box, you’ll be that much closer to filling it up.

Pennies for Patients makes an even bigger difference than you may think.

If you don’t know someone with a blood cancer, you probably know someone who has battled another form of cancer. More than
40% of new cancer therapies approved by the FDA between 2000 and 2015 were first approved for blood cancer patients but now help others as well. Working together on our Pennies for Patients campaign, we can turn our spare change into real help for real people!

If you have questions about Pennies for Patients, contact your child’s teacher or our school program coordinator. Or visit LLS.org. Thanks to families like yours, we are that much closer to finding a cure for blood cancers.
